Preparing for Your Summer:
Things to Know
Including Policies and Procedures
We are praying for you!!
We are so excited that God has directed you to join us for this summer, set apart for His purposes in your life. Indeed, “KNOW that the Lord has set apart His faithful servant for HIMSELF; the Lord hears when I call to Him.” (Psalm 4:3)
We believe God desires to set you apart this summer to give you a heart like His, to desire what He desires, to love what He loves. We are confident that He has great things in store for you!
Purpose in your heart - even now - to quiet yourself before Him, offer yourself to Him as a “living sacrifice” (Romans 12:1). Ask Him to help you “not to be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2)
We challenge you to read through the book of Nehemiah, as it will be the foundation for our studies this summer. As you read of Nehemiah in his journey to reconstruct the walls of Jerusalem, observe the crucial element of a structurally sound spiritual walk. God employs willing workers to recognize a need, begin preparation, and face the challenge. This is your season to learn Victorious Christian Service.
ARRIVIAL
We are excited to meet you!! June 6 is Arrival Day!
If arriving by plane, please fly into Rogue Valley International airport in Medford, Oregon, before 6 PM on Tuesday, June 6. We can provide transportation for you to Brookings, which is a 2 1/2 hour drive from the airport.
Please email us your arrival plans to us, including flight information if traveling by air, to us so we can know how and when to expect your arrival.
PERSONAL
Remember, this is a part-time internship. You are welcome to get a job (there are many available) and to use your free time to explore the Oregon Coast and surrounding area, or grab your Bible for a devotional walk down at the Beach!
This internship takes place at several locations: the church, the beach, and the dorm. It is not necessary to have a car but it is helpful. Interns can get rides with other interns, or ride a bike.
No alcohol or tobacco use is allowed.
Calvary Heritage staff pays attention to Biblical lifestyle standards of our interns on social media.
We do expect modesty with what you choose to wear; see Dress Code.
Relationships are not discouraged, but we do expect a biblical standard of morality and accountability. Interns are to be above reproach at all times by not putting themselves in situations that could allow compromise. However, relationships with minors are not permitted.
Attendance to all scheduled activities is expected. It is your commitment to allow the Lord to teach you His heart of faithfulness. If you need to be absent, please notify Pastor Rich or Kristi in advance.
MEALS AND FOOD
Interns are responsible to provide for their own food. You will be assigned a kitchen cupboard and refrigerator shelf for food storage. We have Fred Meyer, Grocery Outlet, and McKay’s Food Store in town for grocery shopping.
Kitchens are equipped with basic cooking essentials. Please do not bring personal kitchen utilities without prior authorization. All kitchen utilities are for common use.

Ministry Opportunities
Now this is the fun part! While serving as an intern, you will have opportunity to plug into a variety of ministry opportunities to get a feel for what Church ministry is all about. As Pastor Chuck used to say, “Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be broken!” Having a willing heart to serve wherever the Lord needs you is absolutely key. You may find yourself serving someone a cup of coffee one Sunday and then coloring pages with a kindergartner the next! Our goal is to get you behind the scenes of ministry and get a feel for what is needed.
But we also want to know what your sweet spot of ministry is! Fill out the following form to give us an idea of where you want to be used. It may be a role you are familiar with, or it could be an area that you would like to gain experience in.
RENT AND FEES

We will be traveling together through some great reading this summer! Victorious Christian Service by Alan Redpath, On Being a Servant of God by Warren Wiersbe, Humility by Andrew Murry, and Nehemiah by Precept Ministries
All interns are required to receive a background check. This is initiated by us through Verified First Background Screening.
